People change, everything and everyone changes all the time. Its really hard to think about the past, in terms of sharing it. I haven't been through anything that I couldn't make it through, I don't have any extraordinary stories to share, but I do have extraordinary people that have made me who I am. I have gained certain qualities from the people that I have been exposed to.
I gained the quality of sharing from my Grandpa Frank, who sacrificed time for me. He always tells stories of when I was younger and would run outside when he got home from work. I would sit out there for hours and talk about all my imaginary friends, and he would just sit there and listen to me. He shared so much time with me, and he allowed me to create memories that I will never forget. This quality helps me both in my past and present. This taught me to share time with others as well as memories.
I gained my faithfulness, trust in others, and my big heart from my mom. She has showed me time and time again what it means to be faithful. She finds beauty in everything, and this has caused me to see the best in other people. She finds beauty in the smallest things everyday. When I was younger, it bothered me a little bit because I never thought that the sunrise was beautiful. Now that I am older, I see that she was showing me that beauty is in everyday. My mom has such a big heart that I am constantly hoping to have her patience and empathy towards others. She shows me everyday that I have a long way to go. However, I know that I am getting closer when people compliment me on my love for other people. I know that I got this quality from my mom, and I only hope that one day others will see in me what I see in my mom.
I got my family oriented mindset from my Mamaw Peggy. She showed me that family is the most important. She gave up her job for her kids and her grandkids. She would do anything for me. She is constantly trying to improve the well-being of our family. She helps everyone and I have no doubt that she would do anything for my family. Growing up around her I have learned about the importance of family. Anytime I had a fight with friends or a bad day, I knew I was going to come home to my family. And, because of my grandma, I know that I will always have a best friend.
I learned the importance of hard work and heroes from my dad. My dad is the hardest working person that I have ever, and will ever know. He never stops working, whether it be in the house with my sister and I or outside with the animals or the vehicles. There is nothing that he can't do and I am amazed everyday by his work ethic. I, like every other kid, was afraid of the dark and the monsters in my closet. But I always had someone to scare them away. When I have a bad day, or I'm just sad, I know I have someone to talk to. My dad has always been there to keep everything away, he has always been there to protect me. Im not afraid of anything, because I know he will always be there to help me. I hope that one day someone will look up to me the way that I look at my dad.
Finally, I learned the importance of independence and the importance of being an awesome mom from my Aunt Jaime. She has never needed anyone, and she makes it look like nothing. She is so organized and put together, and she has raised two of the most wonderful boys that I will ever have the privilege of knowing. She doesnt need any help to be the best, and I have always thought of her as a person to model myself after. She is one of the best people that I am privileged to have in my life, and I am so grateful for her influence on me.
In conclusion, I don't have any crazy stories to tell or any weird experiences that have made me who I am. I have a wonderful group of people that have shaped me into the person that I am today. I only hope that I can one day shape myself into the people that have influenced me over the years.
